Andrew Kim Memorial Foundation Scholarship
Dear Young Scholars of KSEA,
On behalf of the organizing committee of the Northeast
Regional Conference (NRC) 2026, we invite you to apply for the Andrew Kim
Memorial Foundation (AKF) Scholarships, established in memory of Mr. Andrew
Kim, who tragically lost his life in the September 11 attack. Since 2018, the
AKF has been awarding scholarships annually at the NRC to support young
scientist engineer who share Andrew’s passion for science.
The NRC is jointly organized by the New Jersey, New York
Metropolitan, Philadelphia Chapters of the Korean-American Scientists Engineers
Association (KSEA). NRC 2026 will take place on March 14, 2026, at the
DoubleTree Hotel in Fort Lee, NJ, bringing together faculty, researchers,
engineers, postdoctoral fellows, undergraduate graduate students from all
fields of science engineering. Selected awardees will have the opportunity to
present their work at the conference.
We
encourage all eligible candidates to apply for this scholarship opportunity,
including undergraduate graduate students, as well as early-career scholars
such as postdoctoral researchers. Graduate student applications are especially
encouraged.
Eligibility:
● All post-secondary students (undergraduate, graduate
students) early career scholars including post-doctoral researchers.
● Definition of Early career scholars
- Applicants
who received the doctoral degree within 5 years (after March 1, 2021) or
- who
received the bachelor’s or master’s degree within 10 years (after April 1,
2016) or who are in the degree courses (undergraduate, graduate students)

Four scholarship awards (One $1,000, Three $500) an award certificate.
